Grant funding is increasingly available to environmentally sustainable crop establishment systems and regenerative agricultural practices.

Claydon direct drills and stubble management machinery have attracted grant funding both historically and currently in various schemes in England and across Europe.

FETF – England

The Farming Equipment and Technology Fund (FETF Grant) is a government initiative aimed at supporting farmers in England in improving productivity, efficiency, and sustainability.

The FETF was set up to run three rounds of funding. The First Round is now closed and we await news on Rounds 2 & 3.

Claydon machinery eligible for the First Round grant is:

  • Direct grain drill 3m, code FETF44, max grant value £15,067*
  • Direct grain drill 4m and above, code FETF 205, max grant value £17,845*
  • Direct grain drill 6m and above, code FETF45, max grant value £27,900*
  • Direct drill with fertiliser placement 3m and above, code FETF206, max grant value £40,800**
  • Tractor mounted stubble rake 6m and above, code FETF208, max grant value £8,400*

*max grant or 50% of purchase price
** max grant or 60% of purchase price

If your grant application has been approved for the first round of grants, products need to be on the farm and grant claimed by the deadline on your confirmation form.***

FETF Grant Eligible Machinery

SFI – England

The Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) pays farmers and land managers to take up or maintain sustainable farming and land management practices that:

  • protect and benefit the environment
  • support food production
  • improve productivity

SOH1: No-till farming, pays £73 pe hectare per year for direct drilling land registered in the scheme for 3 years, the land can only be prepared for drilling with a straw harrow (having rearward facing tines) and low disturbance subsoiling is allowed if you can prove and keep evidence that this was required: See full details SOH1: No-till farming – GOV.UK
