Grant funding is increasingly available for environmentally sustainable crop establishment systems and regenerative agricultural practices.

Claydon direct drills and stubble management machinery have attracted grant funding both historically and currently in various schemes in the UK and across Europe.

FETF 2026 – ENGLAND

Guidance on the new Farming Equipment and Technology Fund (FETF) 2026 is now available, with Claydon Direct Drills and Stubble Rakes again being eligible for grant funding.

Applications for the next round open on 17 March and close at midday on 28 April 2026.

FETF 2025 – England

Those who have had their application for a Farming Equipment and Technology Fund (FETF) 2025 grant approved by The Rural Payments Agency (RPA) and accepted it by 11 November now need to note the claims window deadline of midday on 31 March 2026. By then applicants must have bought the grant items and have them on site without packaging, or installed (if the specification states). Applicants must have emailed to the RPA a completed single claim form detailing all the items and containing all the supporting evidence that the items have been bought.

SFI26 – ENGLAND

DEFRA has announced guidance on the new Sustainable Farming Incentive 2026 (SFI26) available here.

For those farmers who were accepted for the SFI scheme 2025, there are various payments for which Claydon drilling is eligible.  Spencer Claydon, a 4th generation farmer for E T Claydon and Sons, takes us through the various options available to farmers carrying out no-till crop establishment.

FFIF – SCOTLAND

The application window for the Future Farm Investment Scheme runs from 14 July 2025 until 22 August 2025.

FFIS is a capital grant scheme designed to help farmers and crofters in Scotland improve the environmental performance of their agricultural business. The scheme offers upfront funding to ensure all agricultural businesses have access to capital support to allow them to carry out capital investment(s) that will help deliver this.

The schemes objectives and expected outcomes are to:

  • improve business efficiency and sustainability
  • protect, restore or enhance the environment
  • reduce greenhouse gas emissions and/or
  • mitigate the effect of climate change

Claydon machinery eligible for funding are Claydon Direct Drills, TerraStar light cultivators and Straw Rakes.

Please Remember: FFIS support can only be used for on farm/croft capital investments that will deliver at least one of the schemes objectives and expected outcomes.

The indicative budget allocation for this application window is £14 million. FFIS is competitive and you may not receive the funding you apply for.
