Results from this year’s wheat establishment trials conducted by Agrii in Taunton show Claydon Opti-Till drilling achieving best yields.
The independent trials were conducted over the 2017/2018 growing season and compared establishment drilling with a Claydon Hybrid, Horsch Sprinter, Sumo DTS, Sumo DTS + Fert and Mzuri.
Three cuts of the Skyfall variety wheat were taken from each plot with the plot combine. This was done about halfway down the field where the soil was most consistent. The field was harvested on 20th July.
Results showed that the highest average yield was achieved by Claydon at 9.92 t/ha, the average for the trial was 9.06 t/ha.
Horsch Sprinter achieved an average yield of 9.64 t/ha, then Sumo DTS+Fert at 9.00, Sumo DTS 8.69 and Mzuri 8.04.
