Overtime available at time + quarter
£9.50 to £10.50 starting hourly rate (depending on experience)

Claydon manufactures agricultural machinery for a worldwide customer base and require two fettlers to join their growing team to support the increasing number of farmers moving to the Opti-Till system of crop establishment. Using the company’s Opti-Till System, farmers are reducing their costs, achieving consistent yields and improving their soil health.
The job role will involve working in a fast-paced, busy environment where you will be cutting, grinding and preparing laser cut steel plates ready for the weld team to use. This is a heavy lifting role so you must be physically fit and able to keep up with the physical demands of this role. You will be responsible for assisting the team to ensure the production schedule is on target and high levels of quality outputs are being maintained by performing key responsibilities.
Previous experience working in finishing, ideally as a fettler, metal finisher, grinder or polisher is an advantage but not mandatory as training can be provided for the correct candidate who shows initiative and willingness to learn new skills.
The ideal candidate should have experience in:
• Using a variety of power tools
• Working with metal
• Metal finishing
• Quality inspection of parts
• Independent working, as well as part of a team
• Have a good eye for detail
• Strong communication skills
• Good understanding of health & safety
Experience would be advantageous but full training will be provided on a 1-2-1 basis and once trained and your skills have developed, you will have the ability to fast track to a higher hourly rate.
